Cursillo Retreats

Cursillo, a Spanish word meaning “short course,” is a weekend course designed to give participants a greater appreciation of our Catholic faith. It presents a method to live that is fundamental to Christianity, helps people discover and fulfill their personal vocations, and promotes creation of friendship groups. To attend, you must be sponsored by someone who has already made a Cursillo weekend. There are two men’s weekends and two women’s weekends held each year. Ideally, participants are 21 years of age or older and must be able to receive the Sacraments of the Catholic Church. The website www.evansvillecursillo.com provides more information. After attending a Cursillo weekend, one is encouraged to “group” on a regular basis. There are also larger group gatherings called Ultreya which are listed in our church bulletin and in The Message. For more information, please contact Sam Tenbarge, or visit http://www.evansvillecursillo.com/.

Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats for Healing the Wounds of Abortion

During the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis requested that a particular outreach be offered for those women and men who have been wounded by past abortions. In this spirit, we want to inform parishioners about local offerings of Rachel’s Vineyard Retreats for Healing the Wounds of Abortion.  Participation in this retreat is open to any woman or man who has been involved, or touched by, abortion.  If you have lost a child or grandchild, or a sibling, nephew or niece, to abortion, or if you have at any time in your life been involved in an abortion, then the Lord Jesus would like to offer you both healing and peace!  Both Catholics and non-Catholics are welcome to participate, and our retreat is conducted with absolute confidentiality.  For more information, visit the following website: http://www.rachelsvineyard.org/weekend/sites.aspx?c=United%20States.  You can also contact Debbie at (270) 570-4717 or Jennifer at (931) 242-5506 for details about retreats being offered in the Diocese of Owensboro.
