February 23, 2023 – Vocation opportunities from the Sisters of Providence

Greetings from the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. We have several opportunities coming up that we would like to share with you.

Come and See weekend retreat

Our spring Come and See weekend retreat is April 14-16. This retreat is free and is open to single, Catholic women ages 18-42. It takes place in-person at beautiful Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, near Terre Haute, Indiana. Can you please share about this vocation exploration retreat opportunity on your social media accounts, e-newsletters or any other methods of sharing information you may have? Please share the link ComeandSee.SistersofProvidence.org  There those interested will be able to learn more and sign up.

And nothing beats a personal invite! So please consider personally inviting anyone you might know who might benefit from the retreat. We also invite you to download and print 8.5×11 flyer here and post it in a place where women who might be interested will see it.

Virtual mini-retreat: a day in the life of a young Sister of Providence

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods a bit too far to travel? Not to worry. We also have a virtual mini-retreat approaching. One of our younger Sisters of Providence, Sister Tracey Horan, SP, will share what a day in her life as like as Sister of Providence ministering with immigrants at the US/Mexico border. The mini-retreat will take place March 21 starting at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. Please share this link: https://spsmw.org/event/hail-mary-full-of-grace-meet-a-sister-face-to-face-sister-tracey-horan/ where any interested single women ages 18-42 can learn more or register.  You will also find a digital brochure here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xvxwfo6k2sndlwb/S%20Tracey%20mini-retreat-1.jpg?dl=0 that you can share.

Ecological Justice farm internships

I would like to share one more opportunity from the Sisters of Providence, available to people of any age or gender. We offer hands-on farm internships or long-term volunteer opportunities on our working organic farm. Interns care for animals, learn natural growing methods, work in fiber arts and more all while being immersed in the Sisters of Providence grounds and many educational opportunities surrounding sustainability and environmental justice. Interns will learn what it takes for care for Earth by actually doing it.

If you have any students who you think might be interested, please share this link with them: https://spsmw.org/get-involved/internships/
