Red Bird Ministries is a Catholic, pro-life/pro-family grief support ministry that focuses on bereaved families who have experienced child loss of any age and circumstance. 
We want to thank Sr. Mercy Marie and Sr. Michela for sharing their message of Life with us.  They presented at all four of our high schools, USI, and the Respect Life Celebration…all in two days!

CPC 2022-23 Donations
First, we would like to thank all those who have turned in pledge cards or made you pledge online to our Called to be Faithful Stewards, CPC campaign. We appreciate your generosity.
At this time, we are at 42% of our goal. Good Shepherd’s CPC goal is $279,037. We are so thankful for the generosity of many, but still need many of you to respond to our plea. Parishioner’s gifts to this annual appeal provide funding to the pastoral and ministerial works of he diocese in every parish in southwestern Indiana.
Contributing to this campaign is one way in which we share the abundance of God’s gifts to us. The gifts made to this appeal are the primary financial support for ministries such as lifelong catechesis, vocations, youth and young adult ministry, Catholic Charities, and many, many more.

Youth & Young Adult Ministry Newsletter October 2022

160 youth and adults from around the diocese attended Holy Fire in Nashville, TN on October 1. At this event, middle school youth were challenged to embrace the Gospel and commit their lives to Jesus Christ. The day consisted of Mass, Eucharistic adoration, witness talks, music, and fellowship. Thank you to our amazing youth ministers and for making it happen!
Young adults need a space where they can build community, foster authentic friendships, and grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. We are excited to share these upcoming opportunities for young adults in our diocese! Check out some of our flyers below. You can see these flyers along with more information on how to connect with local groups on our website. Please share the link with those that might be interested.
32 pilgrims from the Diocese of Evansville will be making the trip next summer to pray with the Holy Father and millions of other Catholics from around the world. Please pray for us as we prepare for this journey!

2022 RESPECT LIFE CELEBRATION
Sr. Mercy Marie was raised on a farm in Gardner, IL and graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  Outside of the office, she spent her free time leading mission trips and youth clubs for girls, service that drew her heart more and more toward those who are vulnerable and fostered in her a desire that all may know their true dignity.  After almost a decade in both the corporate and non-profit sectors, she left the business world to follow the One who made the world, joining the Sisters of Life in 2014.
Sr. Maria Anne Michela, SV, was raised in Carmel, IN.  While in junior high school she attended a retreat with her youth group where she first encountered Jesus’ real presence in the Eucharist.  This discovery changed her life as she knew she had found the One worth living for.  Sr. Michela attended Indiana University – Bloomington for undergraduate and the University of Wisconsin – Madison for graduate studies in biochemistry.  While in graduate school she made the best decision of her life in surrendering to Jesus’ call to religious life as a Sister of Life.  Sister Bethany made her final vows in 2015
